Founded as a regional association of B-XB1337 - International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW), with the title European Regional Group for Social Work Education (ERG), also referred to as European Group for Social Work Education. Present name adopted 1994. Became an independent association 1 Dec 1995.
Promote social development; develop high quality education, training and knowledge for social work practice, social services and social welfare policies in Europe.
