History
Established by F-XF2522 - Southern African Development Community (SADC), on signature of an Intergovernmental Memorandum of Understanding (IGMOU). Revised IGMOU signed, 23 Feb 2006, Gaborone (Botswana).
Aims
Coordinate provision of a reliable and economical electricity supply, facilitate electricity trading, and promote regional cooperation in power projects, both generation and transmission, while increasing access to electricity among SAPP member utilities in the SADC region.
