1 Feb 1991, Ibadan (Nigeria), during an inaugural meeting at E-XE4109 - International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA). As of 2004 "ceased to exist".
Aims
'Overall goal': Improve soil and plant analytical laboratories in Africa in order to strengthen support to national agricultural research systems. 'Specific objectives': (a) Identification of priority problems and available resources; (b) upgrading the skills of laboratory technologists through training; (c) improve communication among laboratories; (d) increase collaboration in order to more efficiently use the resources.
