The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1929. A constituent Institute of CABI, ceased autonomous existence from Jan 1998, when, together with International Institute of Biological Control (IIBC), International Institute of Entomology (IIE) and International Mycological Institute (IMI), integrated into CABI Bioscience. Original title: Imperial Bureau of Agricultural Parasitology, when came within the framework of the 'Imperial Agricultural Bureaux (IAB)', subsequently Commonwealth Agricultural Bureaux (CAB); Name changed: 1959, to Commonwealth Bureau of Helminthology; 1981, to Commonwealth Institute of Parasitology; 1 Jan 1986, to CAB International Institute of Parasitology (IIP). Present name adopted 1 Aug 1991. Ceased to exist when CABI Bioscience was integrated back into CABI, 2006.

Aims

Provide identification teaching and advisory services for helminths and plant and insects nematodes and undertake research; provide information services in parasitology and plant nematology.
