Give meaning and effect to the human rights values enshrined in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in international human rights treaties and conventions; keep human rights at the forefront of international affairs; raise human rights issues and cases before the UN and regional intergovernmental organizations, helping partner organizations to amplify their voices and coordinate strategies for effective human rights protection; defend individual human rights advocates who risk their lives to promote the ideals of a just and civil society in their homelands.
