History

Aims

Promote adult education and training for senior citizens by those active in the francophone world; develop such training activities so as to integrate at a local level with non-francophone cultures; promote open attitudes and active participation among older people; develop training activities for senior citizens in non-francophone cultural communities with a view to better integration at the local level; develop research projects leading to understanding between senior citizens and the francophone world - investigations of needs, opinions, satisfactions, attitudes and behaviour; promote maintenance of knowledge of the French language and culture among francophile and French speaking bodies and training schemes for such knowledge in the non-francophone world; promote the continued use of the French language in international relations; encourage and facilitate dialogue between training institutions for the elderly, universities for all ages or for older people and similar bodies, having French as a common language of communication, and exchange programmes for students; encourage training institutes for the elderly to welcome foreign groups or individuals so as to disseminate knowledge of the French language and culture.
