History

22 Feb 1978, Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), by Resolution No (718), under the framework of Arab Economic and Social Council (AESC). An Affiliate of League of Arab States (LAS). Also referred to as Arab Fishing Company; Arab Fisheries Group; Arab Fisheries Company Group (AFCG).

Aims

Develop fish resources of the region and an aquaculture system; further consultancy, trading and cooperation in the field, especially with Arab countries.

Aquaculture projects: fish farm project in Khulais (Saudi Arabia); fish farm project in Berseik (Egypt); fish hatchery projects in Abbassah (Egypt); shrimp project in Ras Jalajel (Saudi Arabia) (under negotiation); fish farm project in Omloj (Saudi Arabia). Administration of Pan Arab importing and exporting trade projects. Research. Specialized scientific symposia and conferences.
