The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).




1991, with the title Links Between Actions for Rural Development (LEADER), as the "Community Initiative for rural development" of H-XD0665 - European Community. From 1994-1999, referred to as Leader II. Current title refers to the years (2000-2006). Implemented by E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC), within the framework of the Agriculture Directorate General, and coordinated by E-XE1673 - AEIDL - European Association for Information on Local Development. Ceased to exist.


Stimulate rural development within the European Union; help rural associations and local government in rural areas to better exploit their potential. LEADER+ objectives: promote integrated schemes conceived and implemented by active partnerships operating at the local level; encourage and support rural actors in considering the longer-term potential of their areas; encourage implementation of integrated, high-quality, original strategies for sustainable development which experiment with new ways of enhancing the natural and cultural heritage, reinforcing the economic environment in order to contribute to job creation and improving the organizational abilities of their communities.
