History
7 Apr 1976, Luxembourg, when statutes were adopted, following recommendations of Symposium on Vascular Diseases, Strasbourg (France), 20-21 Jun 1975 organized in cooperation with members of the European Parliament.
Aims
Draw attention, particularly of social policy makers, to possibilities of prevention, treatment - especially by hormones - and rehabilitation of circulatory diseases, and to the advantages in this respect of physical exercise; contribute to establishment of critical evaluation of this work; promote implementation of studies and controlled clinical trials, especially with a view to demonstrating advantages or effects of these two approaches of treatment; make political bodies aware and secure their practical support for: encouraging the medical profession to intensify research in this area, promoting appropriate training in medical faculties, using these approaches to build up necessary structures to fight the scourge of circulatory disease.
