History
1967, on an ad hoc basis. Set up on permanent basis in 1971 within the framework of D-XD4238 - Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM) under Nordic Cross-border Cooperation. Statutes registered 1976.
Aims
Promote cooperation in the fields of regional and labour market policy and in joint projects with significance for business development and employment, for social and cultural development in the North Calotte area (Nordland, Troms and Finnmark counties in Norway, Norrbotten county in Sweden and Lapland county in Finland); reduce and solve border obstacles between member states.
