History
27 Feb 1975, by the government of Venezuela. Comprises 2 trust funds of C-XC3038 - Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), one administered by F-XF1069 - Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the other by F-XF4023 - Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). Ceased to exist 2000.
Aims
IDB: contribute to financing of projects and programs which have a significant effect on the development of IDB member countries through better utilization of their natural resources and promotion of their industry and agro-industry; expand IDB's export financing program; strengthen Latin American integration plans. CDB: finance projects and programs of significance to development of Caribbean member countries of CDB, especially the less developed, through better utilization of natural resources and promotion of industry, agriculture, exports and investments in tourism development.
