1972 Tripoli Libyan AJ


Founded following resolution of the 1st conference of the Islamic Call, 11-16 Dec 1970, Tripoli. No activities reported since 2015.


Make known the call of Islam worldwide by all peaceful means, in particular by: diffusing Islamic culture and the Arabic language; promoting peace and international cooperation; classifying Islamic law; compiling and publishing reference works; creating centres of education.

General Congress (every 4 years) comprises member Islamic bodies, institutions and societies. Congress appoints the 36 members of U-XE0941 - World Council for the Islamic Call (meeting annually), which acts as Executive Council and was originally set up at 2nd Conference, 1982, Tripoli (Libyan AJ). Council appoints from among its members the 5 members of the Executive Committee (meeting 4 times a year), including General Secretary and General Rapporteur. General Secretariat includes a number of specialized departments.
