The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


1980-07-09 Strasbourg France


9 Jul 1980, Strasbourg (France), on the initiative of Altiero Spinelli, as an informal club of parliamentarians which submitted a number of proposals to F-XF0667 - European Parliament (EP), elaborating a global reform of the European Communities. With the adoption by the European Parliament, 14 Feb 1984, of a Treaty approving the establishment of F-XF2147 - European Union (EU), and the death, 23 May 1986, of Altiero Spinelli, the Club's activities virtually ceased, the successor body being Federalist Intergroup of the European Parliament and a continuing initiative being U-XE0589 - Comité d'action Altiero Spinelli pour l'Union européenne, set up 16 Jun 1982. A publication Club Crocodile pour l'Union européenne (Club crocodile) was set up on 14 Sep 1995, when registered in accordance with Belgian law.
