Promote the control of pain and good practice in the care of cancer patients; advance social, medical, nursing and social welfare knowledge in cancer care throughout the world; provide for exchange of experience and discussion of new methods for the continuing care of patients with cancer, including rehabilitation, resettlement and the management of patients with persistent cancer; study and discuss the special needs of patients dying with cancer, of young and aged patients, of families of patients with cancer, and of the bereaved.
