Founded on signature of tripartite convention by B-XB3383 - UNESCO, the Government of Ecuador and the Central University of Ecuador. At one time a member of U-XF8466 - International Network of Documentation Centres on Communication Research and Policies (COMNET), functions as a regional non-governmental international body registered in accordance with Ecuador law. Agreement with D-XD3030 - OAS signed in 1964.
Provide advanced training in information science and scientific journalism; carry out scientific research on mass communications; provide specialized documentation on radio and television productions, technical equipment and technology.
