The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

1997-10-15

History

15 Oct 1997, by decision of E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC), replacing H-XD0550 - European Association for Cooperation (EAC). Also referred to as Common Service for External Relations. Operational by stages from 1 Jul 1998; replaced from 1 Jan 2001 by H-XE3670 - EuropeAid Cooperation Office (AIDCO).

Aims

Manage technical, operational, financial, accounting, contractual and legal aspects of European Union aid to non-member countries and carry out audits and evaluation; streamline and rationalize administration of Community aid, with particular reference to financial management; achieve greater consistency in working methods, including tendering and contract procedures; improve transparency for contractors.
