The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History
1987, by E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC), as European Community Youth Exchange Bureau (ECYEB) -- Bureau d'échange de jeunes de la Communauté européenne (BEJCE). A technical assistance unit of the European Commission, responsible for 3 programmes: U-XF1087 - PETRA; U-XF1086 - Young Workers' Exchange Programme (Youth for Europe Programme); Priority Action in the Youth Field. No policies or programmes of its own. Ceased to exist, 1995, on completion of programmes.
Aims
Offer technical assistance to the Commission for implementation of youth exchange programmes at European Community level.
