History
Founded Apr 1956, as Foreign Trade Arbitration Commission, within G-XN9837 - China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Renamed, 1980, to Foreign Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission to meet the needs of the continuing development of China's economic and trade relations with foreign countries after the adoption of the "reform and opening-up" policy. Current name adopted, 1988. Since 2000, also known as Arbitration Court of the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC).
Aims
Resolve, independently and impartially, economic and trade disputes by means of arbitration and conciliation (mediation).
