The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


Sep 1950, Helsinki (Finland). Constitution amended 16 Nov 1967, Brussels (Belgium). Formerly referred to as International Federation of Workers' Travel Associations. Ceased to exist 12 May 1992, Manchester (UK), when merged with International Union of Cooperative and Associated Tourism (IUCAT) to form International Association of Cooperative Tourism (TICA).


Secure cooperation between affiliated organisations on all matters connected with tourism; promote development of popular travel associations in countries where they do not exist; represent the interests of popular travel associations in relation to UNESCO, ILO and international air, sea, road and rail transport organizations.
