History

10 June 1994, Brussels (Belgium), during the first International Congress Parenthood-Drug Abuse. Also referred to in English as International Network Parenthood and Drug Abuse. Registered in accordance with Belgian law, 20 Feb 1997.

Aims

Promote exchange of information among those who conduct scientific research related to drug-using young people or to future parents and their children; promote the development and coordination of such research and encourage the spreading of information; inform members, non-specialized professionals and the general public of the different existing modalities of taking in charge, support, prevention, help and care for such parents and their children; inform the decision makers of the necessity to set up enough and appropriate care treatment and prevention.

Working on an inventory of the types of treatment and care available for drug-using pregnant women, the fathers and their children, in member states of the European Union, Switzerland and in Central and Eastern European countries; exchange and distribution of information; research, conception of programmes and tools for training and prevention; organization of congresses, conferences, seminars.
