Jointly sponsored by U-XE2289 - DIVERSITAS - International Programme of Biodiversity Science, U-XF3403 - International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP), U-XF1577 - International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) and F-XF9983 - World Climate Research Programme (WCRP). Ceased to exist, when Sustainable Water Future Programe (Water Future) built on its research, a project within F-XJ6881 - Future Earth.
Examine how humans are changing the global water cycle, the associated biogeochemical cycles, and the biological components of the water system; understand the human responses to these changes and the implications of these responses for societies and for the earth system.
