History

11 Jun 1926, Paris (France), as International Committee of Scientific Management -- Comité international de l'organisation scientifique, being a result of 1st International Management Congress, 1924, Prague (Czechoslovakia). Present name adopted 1976. Dormant since 1995.

Aims

In the sphere of professional management at all levels and in all functions, and extending to any sphere of economic and other human activity to which the principles and methods of management can usefully be applied, promote internationally the principles and methods of professional management in order to improve living standards in all nations through more effective utilization of human resources and material resources. Promote advanced scientific and professional management; further research, education, training, development and practice in the field through member organizations and exchange of information, knowledge and experience among them; promote the study of regional and national codes of management ethics with a view to international acceptance of management as a profession.

Secretariat in Eschborn (Germany). Meetings closed.
