History

1977, under the name of European Cooperative Research Network on Trace Elements, as part of European System of Cooperative Research Networks in Agriculture (ESCORENA) within Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), through its European Commission on Agriculture (ECA). Subsequently changed title to European Cooperative Research Network on Trace Elements, Natural Antioxidants and Contaminants. Ceased to exist.

Activities

Development of methodology in food sampling; national surveys of total dietary intakes of certain nutrients, natural antioxidants and contaminants in different European populations. Current focus on comparing food safety of conventionally and organically grown crops.
