Established within the framework of A-XA3375 - United Nations (UN), pursuant to General Assembly resolution 32/133 of 16 Dec 1977, which, inter alia, called upon UN member States to make contributions for the International Year of the Disabled Persons (IYDP) in 1981. Became operational 1980. Administered by the Secretariat of T-XT0616 - Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), within United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
Provide governments and organizations of persons with disabilities with support for catalytic and innovative projects of direct benefit to disabled persons, especially in developing countries.
