3 Oct 1975, Montreux (Switzerland), in succession to European Working Committee of National Associations of Officers in Resort and Tourist Organizations -- Groupe de travail européen des associations des cadres des organismes de tourisme -- Europäische Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Berufsverbände für Kur- und Fremdenverkehrsfachleute, set up in 1967, Scarborough (UK). Most recent statutes adopted Sep 1994, Lugano (Switzerland). Registered in accordance with Belgian law, Brussels (Belgium). No longer active as of 2015.

Aims

Promote exchange of professional experience among members and between members and third parties; coordinate and develop the training of specialists in the European tourist field; achieve cooperation in the solution of professional problems and facilitate granting of mutual help and support to members of the profession generally; promote recruitment and training of junior tourist officers; achieve recognition of the profession by legislation at both national and European levels; explore the basic principles of the profession.
