History
Established as an Enlarged Partial Agreement of D-XD0435 - Council of Europe (CE), by Resolution (98) 7 of E-XE8838 - Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, 5 May 1998. Formally set up, 1 May 1999 by Resolution (99) 5. Legal standards involved: T-XT9961 - Civil Law Convention on Corruption (ETS 174); T-XT9963 - Criminal Law Convention on Corruption (ETS 173) and T-XT0336 - Additional Protocol to the Criminal Law Convention on Corruption (ETS 191); Resolution of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on the Twenty Guiding Principles for the Fight against Corruption (Resolution (97) 24); Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on Codes of Conduct for Public Officials (No R (2000) 10); Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on Common Rules against Corruption in the Funding of Political Parties and Electoral Campaigns (Rec (2003) 4).

Improve policies, legislation and institutional set-ups for preventing and combating corruption in the GRECO member states.
