The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


1985, Grasse (France), as Centre européen de recherches documentaires sur les immunoclones. Registered in accordance with French law. No activities reported since 2007.


Collect, collate, promote and distribute information and scientific and technical documentation to educational and research institutions, industry and documentation centres; promote and participate in distribution of the living organisms concerned, their constituents and products; ensure European and worldwide participation in these activities, particularly through creation or management of databanks; develop scientific and technical information for biotechnology industry and university departments in the Mediterranean region, particularly in South West France, and favour their interaction.

Between 1998-2008, functioned as national centre of: European Information Network Services (EINS) for France, Switzerland, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Monaco, giving access to 100 scientific and technical databases in the following areas: Aerospace; Agriculture; Building and Construction; Biology; Chemistry; Teaching; Electricity and Electronics; Energy; Geology; Computer Science; Fluid Engineering; Materials; Mathematics; Mechanics; Medicine; Metals; Meteorology; Packaging; Physics; Health and Security; Nuclear Sciences; Agro-Alimentary Sciences; Aquatic Sciences and Maritime Problems; Environmental Sciences; Information Sciences; Veterinary Sciences; Telecommunications; Work and Employment; Press; Finances; Legislation. Acts as representative in France of Deutsches Institut fur Medizinische Dokumentation und Information (DIMDI) - medicine and biotechnology databases and MEDLARS centre; provides information professionals, researchers and engineers with methods of documentary research and information; carries out bibliographic research; provides for validation of information. From 1992 to 2000, represented 'The European Collection of Cell Cultures' in France.
