Encourage all involved in adult education: to identify and act to overcome social, political and economic forces which perpetuate the existence of poverty, oppression and political powerlessness; to view and practice adult education so as to enable all adults to gain and exert control over their own lives as part of the community and environment; to direct resources toward the exploited, oppressed and politically powerless and work in solidarity in developing learning activities with social, political, economic, cultural and aesthetic content; to learn about oppression from the oppressed, to name their own oppression and to make explicit the ethics and values which guide their practice.
