1994, under the auspices of E-XE0409 - Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CONGO).
Assist and promote the work of NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC, UNCTAD and other UN agencies in relation to ongoing work in the field of development; promote cooperation among NGOs in the Committee, with those in other CONGO committees and with NGOs from developing countries which have no consultative status with UN bodies; provide a forum for discussion of ideas and experience on development and for sharing information on the work of NGOs and the UN system concerning development; promote the NGO contribution to work in the field; promote links with local, national and regional NGOs working in the field and maintain a two-way communication with them.
