1996
History
Established 1996, by an Inter-Governmental Agreement as the trade promotion Agency of the 15 Member States of F-XF4117 - Forum of Caribbean States (CARIFORUM). Successor to U-XJ7068 - CARICOM Export Development Project (CEDP), set up 1989, Barbados, within the framework of D-XD4579 - Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Previously also referred to by the initials CEDA. Jul 2005, assumed investment promotion mandate after 14th CARIFORUM Council of Ministers meeting.
Aims
Increase the competitiveness of the Caribbean countries by providing export development and investment promotion services.
