Fatah al-Qiyadah al-Thawriyyah
22 Nov 1974, by Sabri I-Banna aka Abu Nidal, when split from Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Also referred to as: Arab Revolutionary Brigades; Arab Revolutionary Council; Black September; Fatah Revolutionary Council; Revolutionary Organization of Socialist Muslims. Abu Nidal died in Aug 2002 but the organization continued to exist. Now considered dormant. Secondary sources speculate linkages with Israeli and Western intelligence agencies.

Considered as the most dangerous international terrorist group during the 1980s. Terrorist attacks have covered 20 countries and caused death or injury to about 900 people. The organization has been losing strength since the 1980s when many of its operatives were arrested in South America.
