The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

May 1990, Saarbruck (Germany FR), and, Nov 1990, Brussels (Belgium), as Action in Europe for Education, Invention and Innovation -- Action européenne pour l'éducation, l'invention et l'innovation -- Acción Europea de Educación, Invención e Innovación -- Aktion in Europa für Bildung, Erfindung und Innovation -- Azione Europea per l'Istruzione, l'Invenzione e l'Innovazione. Reregistered under current title, 2008, Geneva (Switzerland). Registered in accordance with French law. No news since 2008.

Aims

Build a society of inventors; offer all European inventor associations membership and support the regional variety which is specific to Europe; underline the significance of individual inventors and researchers, particularly in SMEs, in order to give them support.

Activities

Stimulation and encouragement in the field of education and vocational training, initiation of creativity. Contribution to the setting up of an organization for a permanent European-wide information of inventors. Assistance to inventors concerning inquiries in Europe, USA and Japan. Promotion of the commercialization of inventions. Distribution of relevant administrative information in Europe and elaboration of concerted positions of inventors concerning relevant laws and directives at European level. Organization of symposia and meetings; execution of projects in the interest of the European Union. Assistance in cases of patent-infractions in membership countries.
