1849, Paderborn (Germany), by Pauline von Mallinckrodt, to care for the poor and suffering, especially blind children. Subsequently, communities were established in North and South America.
Aims
Promote Christian education and instruction at all levels; provide spiritual retreats, catechesis and pastoral ministry; ensure service to and education of the blind and handicapped; promote and support health services, homemaking, care for the poor, orphans and the elderly.
