The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

2 June 1994, at Prix Jeunesse International Contest, following proposal at meeting of Prix Jeunesse, 23-26 May 1993, Munich (Germany). Ceased to exist 2006.

Aims

Act as a global network of principal international organizations dedicated to promotion of television for children; share knowledge and expertise to ensure that children's television respects their needs, concerns, interests and culture; develop strategies for meaningful application of television and related technology for children and young people; help preserve children's world of happiness and health, so that they may grow up to be responsible citizens.

Activities

In cooperation with Prix Jeunesse and other members of the International Council, sponsors workshops, training courses, planning meetings and working groups at which professionals collaborate on topics of shared interest. Helps carry out research projects of practical use to the television industry.
