Founded 16 Aug 1993, Atlanta GA (USA), at constitutive congress, by African participants at a seminar organized by G-XG2898 - United States Agency for International Development (USAID), when statutes were adopted. Internal rules adopted 14 Oct 1993. Registered in accordance with the law of Niger, 7 Jan 1994.

Aims

Defend and promote: democracy and human rights in a governance society for sustainable development in Africa; government by the majority; respect of human, minority and individual rights and the right to differ; responsible government for just and transparent management of public affairs; people's sovereignty, freedom of the press and other freedoms to counterbalance other powers; independence of the judicial system and an acute sense of its responsibilities by the citizen; monitor democracy and the achievement of the rule of law in Africa.
