The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1992, in the framework of Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Agreement establishing the Foundation put forward for signature at 10th Meeting of Standing Committee of Ministers Responsible for Education and Culture, 16 Sep 1994, Belize (Belize) and came into force 17 Jan 1997, on fifth ratification (St Lucia).

Aims

Foster and promote enjoyment and production of work in the arts, humanities and social sciences.

Activities

Provides grants, scholarships, loans and bursaries to CARICOM nationals for study or research in the arts, humanities and social sciences and also to non-CARICOM nationals for study or research in a member state; sponsors exhibitions, performances and publications; confers awards for outstanding accomplishments in the arts, humanities and social sciences.
