History
26 Jul 1998, within the framework of F-XD0055 - Andean Community as an advisory institution of F-XF4919 - Sistema Andino de Integración (SAI). Governed by Decisions 441 and 464, approved by E-XE3583 - Commission of the Andean Community. Set up pursuant to Guideline of the Andean Presidential Council on attainment of fuller participation by this sector in constructing the integration process leading to creation of U-XF2431 - Andean Common Market (ANCOM). By-laws adopted at 1st meeting, 30 Nov 1998.
Aims
Issue opinions before the Andean Council of Foreign Ministers, the Commission or the General Secretariat, at their request or on own initiative, with regard to programs or activities of the Andean subregional integration process that are of interest to the labour sector.
Structure
Comprises top-level delegates chosen from among representative organizations of each member country.
