The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


1990, by Caribbean leaders within the framework of Caribbean Community (CARICOM) but independent of governments. Work completed 1992.


Advance the process of economic, political and social integration in the region.

Final report, presented mid-1992, recommends setting up: CARICOM Commission, to further process of integration among CARICOM members and develop relations between CARICOM and the wider community of Caribbean countries; Assembly of Caribbean Community Parliamentarians (ACCP) (building on the 1990 Agreement but extending the concept); Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) (again extending the concept); Association of Caribbean States (ACS), to include all the countries of the Caribbean Basin. It also proposed enhancement of activities of the 'Common Market Council', which lead to the setting up of Community Council of Ministers. In the context of a revised Treaty of Chaguaramas, CARICOM member governments should subscribe to a CARICOM Charter of Civil Society covering wider issues than economic circumstances. Report lead to the setting up, Oct 1992, of Bureau of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community. Proposed revision of responsibilities of Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community.
