History

19-23 Jan 1976, Geneva (Switzerland), on the initiative of 'World Symposium on the Social Implications of a New International Economic Order'. Registered in accordance with the Swiss Civil Code.

Aims

Encourage prospective study of issues emerging on the social horizon in anticipation of establishment of a new international order; carry out and promote research into dynamic forces shaping the future of labour and social policy; discover which initiatives in the social field are indispensable prerequisites for establishing a new international order; on this basis, formulate proposals for influencing decision-making in the field of economic and social policy.

Activities

Creates national, sub-regional and regional social prospects associations. Set up: International Social Prospects Academy, Jan 1983, Caracas (Venezuela), for the study of social affairs; International Famine Research Fund (FIRCOFAM), Nov 1985, Geneva (Switzerland), to enable the food crisis to be understood in its totality; Pan African Social Prospects Centre - Albert Tevoedjre Institute (CPPS-IAT), 1987, Benin, to coordinate activities of AMPS in Africa; Station internationale de recherche contre la faim dans le monde (SIRCOFAM), 1987, Toulouse (France). Organizes annual 'International Social Prospects Week'. Awarded the 1987 International Humanitarian Medal.
