The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Feb 1992, within the framework of Regions and Cities of Europe (RECITE Programme), with the assistance of DG XVI of European Commission (EC). Full title: European Observatory and Decision Support System. Original title Réseau des observatoires métropolitains en Europe (ROME Network). Ceased to exist.

Aims

As a European Cooperation Network, create a shared database and management decision support system between the cities of the 'ROME' network, to help policy decision-making; monitor development trends in European cities; unite big European cities in facing common problems and challenges.
