Founded as a result of enlarging the 'Salzburger Kreis' and the efforts of Prof L Müller.
Statutes approved 1991, Aachen (Germany); 2021.
Aims
Encourage teaching, research and advancement of knowledge in rock mechanics and international collaboration and exchange of ideas and information among rock mechanics practitioners; promote high standards of professional practice among rock engineers so as to ensure that civil, mining and petroleum engineering works are safer, more economic and less disruptive to the environment.
