History
1969, following an international conference in Evian (France) at the initiative of international, American and European non-profit organizations. Restructured at General Assembly, 6 Jun 1984, London (UK). Also referred to in French as Conférence internationale pour l'étude et l'encouragement de la philanthropie. Registered in accordance with Swiss Civil Code.
Aims
Promote development of civil society, and specifically the idea and practice of modern philanthropy.
