The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

18 Oct 1991, Luxembourg, simultaneously with European Board of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (EBGO), by International Professional Union of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (UPIGO) together with Gynaecology-Obstetrics section of European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). Intends to assimilate EBGO in style and content.

Aims

Promote wellbeing of women and their unborn children through standardization of post-graduate training and continuing education of gynaecologists and obstetricians in Europe.

Activities

Issues European recommendations of post-graduate training, as an analogue to current recommendations for European Community countries. Grants European Certificate of Excellence. in gynaecology and obstetrics. Fosters superspecialization in: gynaecological oncology; feto-maternal medicine; reproductive medicine.
