The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1954, Paris (France), following on from a French national association, set up in 1944, Paris. Registered in accordance with French Law. Ceased to exist, 2007.

Aims

Study economic, technical and policy aspects of air transport, other means of transport and tourism; contribute to a better understanding of air transport questions.

Provides consulting services in: air transport and air planning; air transport economics; market studies; traffic forecasting, prospective studies; fleet planning; engineering and maintenance; organization and management consulting for air carriers; organization and management of civil aviation administrations and definition of regulations; tourism; statistical research. Organizes training sessions for executives in air transport and related sectors on: traffic forecasting; air transport policy (air freedoms, deregulation, agreements); European air transport (progress in the various regulatory texts); policy for charter airlines; airline privatization; developments in intermodal competition; air transport and international tourism; airworthiness. Organizes international symposia.
