History

Founded 16 June 1969, by 3 international catholic media organizations: International Catholic Union of the Press, the current International Christian Organisation of the Media (ICOM); International Catholic Organization for Cinema and Audiovisual (OCIC); Unda, International Catholic Association for Radio and Television - the latter 2 organizations merging to form World Catholic Association for Communication (SIGNIS) - and the German Catholic Bishops' Conference. Commenced activities 15 Jan 1970, Aachen (Germany FR). Full English title: Catholic Media Council - Consultancy in the field of Communications (CAMECO). Registered in accordance with German law, under current name.

Empower community and development-oriented media initiatives and strengthen the presence of the Church in the media; enhance the importance of the media within the Church.
