The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Sep 1987, Brussels (Belgium). Sub-title: European Federation of Christian Democrat Students -- Fédération européenne des étudiants démocrates chrétiens. Statutes adopted in Sep 1987, Brussels; modified: Apr 1990, Brussels. Merged with European Democrat Students (EDS), 1997/1998.

Aims

Promote initiatives in favour of European integration and of better understanding among the peoples of Europe; foster contacts and exchanges among Christian democratic students in Europe; implement concretely on a European level actions related to educational issues on the basis of the common Christian democratic inspiration of the national organizations.

Activities

Promotes cooperation, on an international level, between national organizations and provides information, on a European scale, relative to education and students politics. Organizes activities for the information and training of students in an international and European prospect. Promotes initiatives among students concerning the development and deepening in the study of Christian democracy political philosophy and doctrine. Takes part in the activities of various platforms and coordination structures of the European youth and encourages their member organizations to do the same. Collaborates with democratic students organizations in order to promote democratic ideas in countries in which political freedom does not exist or is threatened.
