History

30 Sep 1951, as International Association of Radio Women. Present title adopted 1956, with new statutes to include television. New statutes, 2003, include new media.

Aims

Network with and support professional women in integrating and extending their position in the media; aware of the responsibility of the mass media towards society as a whole, work to bring a woman's viewpoint to all aspects of world development, human rights and peace.
