The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

1948
History
Founded following World War II, as International Farm Youth Exchange Programme (IFYE), by 4-H Youth Program of the US Department of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service and State Land-Grant Universities. Current title adopted in USA, 1973. Original title kept in some countries; International Federation of Youth Exchange (IFYE), when involving multiple country events. Discontinued 2013.
Aims
Promote personal relations between young people in the USA and their counterparts around the world and between other countries; provide cross-cultural experiences for young people in the USA and their counterparts around the world; assist other countries in the development and/or enhancement of similar youth programmes.

Administered by the (US) National 4-H Council until 1992; currently administered by the United States Department of Agriculture through each state 4-H office. Regional organization: E-XD0638 - Rural Youth Europe, set up 1957 on the initiative of Pieter Dijkhuis; contacts among ex-participants maintained through E-XE3497 - European IFYE Alumni Association.
