African Elders Council for Peace (AECP)
25 Mar 1992, Arusha (Tanzania UR), at first meeting organized by Africa Leadership Forum (ALF), following a meeting, 19-22 May 1991, Kampala (Uganda), in relation to the proposed Conference on Security, Stability, Development and Cooperation in Africa (CSSDCA). Also referred to as African Peace Council, as African Elder Statesmen Council for Peace and as Africa's Elders Council for Peace. Operated within the framework of Organization of African Unity (OAU).
Through the wisdom of Africa's elder statesmen, move Africa from the confinement of purely reacting to events to a capacity of anticipatory and containment measures for its security.Available with paid subscription only.
