History

as European Network of Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH), by WHO Regional Office for Europe (WHO/Europe). Subsequently changed title to International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals. Directly coordinated by WHO Collaborating Centre for Evidence-based health Promotion in Hospitals and Health Services, since Nov 2001.

Aims

Facilitate and encourage cooperation and exchange of experience between hospitals of a region or country, including identification of areas of common interest, sharing of resources and development of common evaluation systems; implement health promotion into the culture of hospitals and health services; broaden the focus of hospital management and structures to include health care and to develop documented and evaluated examples of good practice for the use of other institutions.
